🎮 🎶 💤 🌱 🤡 for Aaron pls <3
MWAH thank youuu for sending this, Kay <333
Tumblr media
🎮 - What’s their favorite game?
Videogames are quite a big part of his life due to being a streamer, and he likes a lot of those, so his top 3 probably would be Silent Hill 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, and The Elder Scrolls Morrowind. Also I just KNOW, KNOW, KNOWWW that he would excessively LOVE Baldur's Gate 3. Like, a fantasy RPG of such high quality? Fits his taste to a hundred percent.
🎶 - What’s a song they really like?
Anyma - The Pact
💤 - What do they absolutely need to have to fall asleep?
Falling asleep isn't much of an issue for him, but if he does struggle sometimes, melatonin gummies or some weed usually helps him.
🌱 - Do they have a green thumb or are they a plant killer?
Plant killer ❌ he's a vegan! Lowkey kidding, but besides that, he doesn't have the greenest thumb. Like, mostly he manages to keep those plants surviving that don't require much care.
🤡 - What’s something dumb they’re embarrassed about?
His laziness is something he doesn't really like to talk about, cause he's been scolded about it all his life. If, for example, he'd never have to clean his apartment, he certainly wouldn't ever do it, and most of the people he knows are really into keeping things clean, so he just keeps quiet about such topics around them.

i love immortal cannon fodder but it makes me SO INCREDIBLY SAD that phoenix will outlive kai and aaron and all of their(not immortal) friends and will see the word change so much and 😭
PHOENIX HAS TO WATCH THEIR FRIENDS AGE AND DIE
😭😭😭😭
That's how Brynn got invented in the first place, so Phoenix would at least have someone, but it's still 😭😭😭
Fun fact: Their friends leave the pair of them a bucket list of things to do after they're gone. Some of them are just so out there that they have to wait hundreds of years to achieve them. It's partly to get them to take a break without anyone to make them.
But yeah. Phoenix is just as upset as you, anon, although they haven't thought that that's what it would mean yet, let alone come to terms with it (they'll never fully).

If the Devil’s Night characters had Instagrams –
Damon:
- Has a private account with 8 followers and only follows Will back.
- Keeps track of everyone else on a different account secretly.
- Posts cute pictures of Winter on her account for her.
- Comments “ew” beneath cute pictures of his sisters with their husbands.
- First post after much deliberation is a picture of Winter in their fountain.
- Pretends to hate when Banks and Rika tag him in their pictures but secretly likes it.
- Participates willingly for pictures only when Will or Winter ask.
- Actively starts posting about his kids once they are born.
- Comments "babysoft" under all of Misha's posts.
- Makes a joint account with Emory for their business but lets her run it completely.
Will:
- Has over 10 million followers (Damon says it’s because he posts thirst traps but Will thinks everyone likes his dancing)
- Posts nearly everyday.
- Very careful about what he posts (he has *important* friends)
- Either spams on his account or goes AWOL suddenly.
- Removed the comment feature on most posts where he’s sporting his abs because Emory doesn’t like girls thirsting over him.
- Has a private account for his friends only to post cute videos of his kids and wife.
- Also known as “Misha Lare’s hot, mystery cousin”
- Posted a video of Damon dancing once, learnt his lesson when his followers fell to 4.
- Writes hate comments underneath Alex's posts with Aydin.
- Uses all features, loves to make reels and put songs over the pictures.
- Participates in Winter’s freestyle dancing videos
Kai:
- Had to make an account to post about Sensou and make it more public.
- Accidentally got famous because everyone thought the teacher was “hot”.
- Now features only his students in his videos and makes sure they get the ‘Banks approval stamp’ before posting.
- Made a private account using an alias to comment on his wife’s pictures.
- Realized that a good way to piss Michael off is by commenting on his wife’s pictures. Had been effectively using it till Banks noticed.
- The only personal post on Sensou is of him kissing Banks at the entrance captioned “Everything I wanted with the only person I’ve ever wanted it with”
- New dilemma unlocked when men started thirsting over his wife.
- Also removed comment feature.
- Hired someone (Alex) to manage the official account.
- Loves showing Banks off because it makes her happy.
- Likes to embarrass his kids and get it on camera only for the family on his private account.
Michael:
- Has an official account run by his assistant for work purposes.
- Public account, millions of followers but still lesser than Will (also blames it on the thirst traps).
- Shows off Rika in almost every post.
- Every intimate picture with Rika has a throwing up emoticon or “there’s children on this app” commented by Athos and liked by Damon.
- Aaron or Athos aren’t featured in any pictures for privacy purposes.
- Hates when Kai comments on Rika’s pictures. Tries to do the same with Banks. Banks blocks him.
- Is an active partner of Will's in posting hate comments on every picture of Aydin on Alex's instagtam.
Rika:
- Shows off her entire family at all times.
- Loves posting pictures with the girls whenever they go out.
- Does vacation dumps, weekly dumps, festival dumps, random dumps.
- Searches hours for good captions.
- Posts about Athos and Aaron but only where their faces are hidden.
- Writes corny captions on her posts with Michael.
- Laughs about Kai’s comments with Banks.
- Does fit checks.
- Tried doing the “A daily vlog of my life” and quickly realized that they do some shady stuff that shouldn’t be on any cameras.
- Personally overlooks the official account for the mayor’s office.
Banks:
- Proud Mom.
- Hundreds of pictures of her children.
- Loves commenting on everyone’s posts and hyping them up.
- Joins Kai in commenting on Rika’s pictures to piss Michael off.
- Only has a private account.
- Overlooks Sensou’s official account after its accidental fame and the official account for the Senator.
- Posts all kinds of things on her stories (dog rescue reels, Winter’s dance reels, Will’s thirst traps, videos of Kai walking out of the shower, of Kai sitting in his study and reading, a zoom in on Kai’s biceps while working out, of Kai getting overwhelmed and pissed off because of all the dogs).
- Only one who can get away with posting funny videos of Damon.
- Replies “no u” to every ‘”ew” comment from Damon.
- Has featured on Rika and Will’s reels multiple times.
- Tried multiple times to get Madden to make an account so she can tag him, has been unsuccessful.
- Uses a lot of emojis.
- Comments “Mine” on all of Kai’s pictures.
Winter:
- Damon runs the account for her.
- Posts videos of her dancing.
- Has tutorials demonstrating basic and easy dance steps for learners.
- Features in a lot of Will’s videos and does dance challenges* with him.
- Actively posts about her charity work.
- Always asks someone to take a picture of her onstage so she can ask Damon to make a compilation after she’s done with her shows.
- Loves when Damon is patient with her whenever she wants to post and helps her caption them.
- Makes Damon read out the comments to her sometimes when she’s sick of hearing the robotic voice of her phone. Knows that Damon does not read the hateful and condescending ones out loud.
- Is a Dog mom and loves having her pictures taken with her Dog.
- Loves family pictures with all her kids and of their pets.
Emory:
- Singlehandedly runs her joint account with Damon for their work.
- Pointedly comments on every one of her husband’s abs pictures (“These look like the same ones I touched this morning in the shower”/”Why do you look like my husband”/”Pictures really ruin the first class quality”).
- Has a public account just to post cute pictures of Will and her.
- Posts videos of Damon hard at work, shopping sprees with the girls (“That’s Banks passed out on the couch after thirty minutes, Rika’s onto her 50th dress and Alex is already on the other floor”), Will watering their garden shirtless, videos of whenever the group gets together.
- Has an aesthetic going on that she’s maintained over the years (Will has tried to ruin it multiple times).
- Pins all of Will's comments.
- Has full permission to use Will's account to post herself on his stories whenever she feels like putting fangirls in their places.
- Posts a lot of her WIP's.
- Uses Will's private account to post pictures of her children ("There's only so many accounts I can handle").
- Is a keyboard ninja and can be found arguing with a virtual stranger in a comment section at 2AM (almost always backed up by Banks)

Post-war: positive Azula arc (meta)
"Today this war is finally over! I promised my uncle that I would restore the honor of the Fire Nation. And I will. The road ahead of us is challenging. A hundred years of fighting has left the world scarred and divided. But with the Avatar's help, we can get it back on the right path and begin a new era of love and peace."
_
You are not the heaviness sitting inside of you. You are not the battlefield where the bodies fall, and you are not the sound of cannons breaking the sky open.
You are what happens after the war.
The surviving. The healing. The rebuilding.
-Y.Z., for the bad nights
For starters, Azula's mental health after the Agni Kai:
In my book, Azula in Avatar: The Last Airbender only suffered from one psychotic episode which is not permanent or a nervous breakdown. She does not suffer from any personality disorder which is something all armchair psychologists are obsessed with, because it's not essential to explain her behavior as they claim. She's not going act nor portrayed as a wild animal nor she's going to suffer from on-going insanity from there on out (which is a very ableist portrayal). After the Last Agni Kai, Azula went into a state of dissociation. Then after she regains her consciousness, she probably would suffer from hallucinations and something like PTSD or C-PTSD.
Azula's main crisis post-war:
Tumblr media
She would suffer from identity crisis can only be solved through fidelity, theoretically.
Identify vs confusion was the central conflict which was revealed in the mirror scene. It's not only a normal conflic for a teenager during this phase, but for Azula it goes much deeper than that, because Azula as a Golden Child didn't develop a solid sense of self began with. Loss of sense of self is the main crisis the Golden Child has to face.
"Who Azula is?" has been one of the most discussed topics in the fandom for a decade and half, the answer is simple: even Azula doesn't know who she is.
Azula post-war has three options:
a) trying desperately to regain her old life or save it from crumbling completely (in which she could learn very bad lessons)
b) find a new goal and place in this world
c) give up, run away, disappear, die
There should be a resolution for this very critical, turning point in Azula's whole life.
The themes:
Convey the main themes of the show and connect her subplot into the world-building and the main plot. Themes of ATLA are: Balance and Change, the Fire Nation's war (in other words, the fall of Balance) and its affects even on its own people is bad. Post-War era: Love and Peace.
From a discussion:
#and yes the tragedy of her fall is that it's NOT hubris #it's not due to any of the 'seven deadly sins' that make up the tragic flaws #it's because she's a child who would be considered virtuous in a different context #was made to break #diligence and loyalty and filial piety and sharing glory... #those are all praise-worthy traits that got _twisted_ by an ideology she didn't get to choose #azula is a lesson in how even our good traits and actions can be bent towards bad ends (tags via @ ultranos)
"What does it mean for a society where someone so young and so gifted, who personifies everything the Fire Nation takes pride in, who is so inspiring and aspirational in so many ways, who has access to the best of all kinds of care available, has a massive nervous breakdown at fourteen years old? " -@ eshusplayground [source]
What are Azula's redeemable qualities:
I believe these two posts, illustrated pretty well Azula's redeeming qualities which we can expand on and mature.
Azula redemption and the fandom:
Even though I do not agree with the arc Aaron Ehasz laid out, my point here is the reaction his tweet thread received. I tracked it on Twitter thread and on Tumblr, it was overall successful. It received a lot of support over 80%, even by fans who don't like Azula or indifferent about her. It's considered more "good Avatar content".
But someone made a poll in Reddit asking the fandom is Azula should be redeemed or not: 60% answered with "no" for two different main reasons (one is that Azula is marked for irredeemability, the second wants her arc to remain a tragedy), while 40% answered with "yes". There is group in between afraid that she would become "boring" if she was redeemed. So after years, the fandom is divided.
How to make this "redemption" story congruous with ATLA therefore more receivable by the fandom:
Integrate Azula into ATLA themes more directly (Iroh's quotes, ATLA central massage, Guru Pathik's insight, and themes of the negative affects of the FN imperialism/expansionism) instead of heavily psychoanalysis her or make her a character from a different story who wandered in the wrong cartoon
Give Azula more "pat the dog" moments
Allow Azula to be a dynamic and a fully-rounded character.
Make a visual change in her appearance (different hairstyle, more teenager-looking appearance than a dragon lady, adult-looking one. In my take: Azula will change her name since she's not going to carry Azulon's legacy anymore, she also will have some white hair; the stress strain caused by her breakdown and losing her firebending naturally since her old world has fallen and she's disconnected from her father and nation; hed drive is lost)
Remind everyone that Azula is a child solider-teenager who needs a teacher not a jailer.
The start:
Azula's point of change
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"I think you're confused. All your life you used fear to control people, like your friends Mai and Ty Lee."
"Well what choice do I have?!"
Azula is self-reflecting on her behavior here and she does not like the way she acted. She knows she hurts her friends and she hates it. She always looked 'pleased' but never once 'enjoyed' it. Deep down I believe she always felt guilty. She hates to be that person. It hurts to be that "monster".
Azula said it's because she has no other choice. The next stage for Azula is to offer her another choice, a different path to live, a chance (no it's not the second).
Azula shows capacity to change her approach to things, even if they're shallow and stupid.
Conclusion:
This is a show with goals of peace and harmony and a theme of change. It's central message is that anyone is capable of great good and great evil. Azula reflects these themes and messages as well.
I have to remind everyone that Azula has no casualties during her participation in war, which is good thing to start over a new leaf.

cerulean - What would your OC do if time suddenly froze only for them?
Ah, another full AU that's pretending to be a question.
In the first minute, Aaron is confused. Guy, what's going on? Is this a prank?
By the 5th minute, his patience has worn out, and this obviously isn't stopping any time soon.
By the 10th minute, he's started pulling pranks on everyone.
By the 15th minute, he's undone all the pranks because he felt bad.
By the 30th minute, he's started getting nice things for everyone.
By 1 hour, Aaron realizes that he should put everyone somewhere safe so that if time suddenly does revert they should be safe from any tampering.
After 2 hours, Aaron's exploring around, trying to find some sign that would indicate how this is happening or why he's the only one free.
After 3 hours, Aaron's gotten distracted and gotten himself something to eat. He paid, of course.
After 6 hours, Aaron decides this isn't something he can solve on his own, and returns to the beds where he left the party.
After 12 hours, Aaron's started his research on how to start to research on how to start to research this issue. First stop: the science fiction section of the library.
After 24 hours, Aaron drags himself back to the hotel where he left the party, exhausted. Looks like we're in for the long haul.
After 2 days, Aaron's gone through everyone's stuff just in case there was something they did.
After 1 week, Aaron realizes he should be marking off the days. At least, as best as he can figure time; birds do have a fairly good sense of time, but a constant daylight will mess that up.
After 2 weeks, Aaron tries to teach himself magic. Even with Kai's extra-magical focus, Aaron's had no luck.
It takes Aaron 3 weeks to convince himself that it's a good idea to use this time-stop to take out the people who were hunting the party. At least, the ones he knows of. Pity Hope and Malina don't carry around pictures of their fathers. Even then, Aaron isn't going yet; he wants to make sure that, on the off chance the world starts moving again, his friends will be okay without him.
By the time 1 month has passed, Aaron's made a diary and all preparations to leave for the hunt. Hopefully, if time restarts, everyone will know where he is and not worry. Then he realizes that he should've made another copy for himself. Bummer.
Two months in. Aaron's taken out Father's Servants, with a bit of discomfort. They don't even know he's here. Still, the things he saw in that base... Unsettle him and concern him. Seems like there's a lot more to this cult than he thought. Why? Asswizard didn't have nearly as much!
Aaron's also remembered to check up on Jill. She's not doing so great. Aaron leaves her a bit of gold.
Three months in. Aaron's gone from daily checkups on everyone to weekly checkups, updating his diary for them in that time. Still no luck with magic; he thought he was able to get off a spell, but that was just his wings.
Six months in. Aaron's started to understand the text of magical textbooks. According to them, it might take an elvish wizard hundreds of years of dedicated practice to weave that sort of magic.
Aaron. Doesn't have hundreds of years in him.
Aaron has also made little puppets of everyone. Aaron is doing completely fine.
Nine months in. Aaron's levelled up just from trying to meditate his way to an answer. He's also stolen the contents of an entire wizard's tower. No luck. Also no magic. Aaron is regularly flying around in his newly-perfected Super Suit and talking to his stuffed dolls of the party.
One year later. If Aaron's count is correct, it's the anniversary of the day the world stopped moving. Even ghosts have been immobilized. He's still no closer to a solution to this... Time freeze. But anniversaries should be celebrated. Aaron buys a cake. Food in the area is starting to run low. Aaron visits the party - the real party, not the one that he keeps in his pockets. He sits everyone up on chairs around a table and has Hope cut everyone a slice while having Malina tell him he's doing a great job. Aaron doesn't feel like he's doing a great job. But he does his best to enjoy the cake and the time with his friends. He gives Kai, Malina, and Hope a hug.
On day 366, Aaron finally forces a spark of magic out of himself. Aaron spends the rest of the day showing his friends what he can do.
On day 367, Aaron adds a wizard hat to his super suit.

Why Armie Hammer’s Scandal Is More Than Kink Shaming
The 34 year old actor has had numerous allegations thrown his way this past month, from cannibalism to an obsession with BDSM. But do these allegations go beyond a widely accepted community of kink lovers and venture into deeply rooted misogyny?
Tumblr media
Warning: this article contains mentions of cannibalism and sexual assault.
For those of you who aren’t aware of Armie Hammer’s presence on screen, you may be scratching your head and wondering what on earth people are talking about, seeing the cannibalism aspect to this all as face value without making the connection between Hammer’s past behaviours and current allegations. The actor who rose to prominence in Aaron Sorkin and David Fincher’s The Social Network (2013) playing both of the Winklevoss twins, has become quite the favourite amongst the film industry. His role Oliver in Luca Guadagnino’s Call me by your name (2017) has sent Twitter into a permanent frenzy as memes and daily adoration for Chalamet and Hammer’s on screen romance continue to thrive even 4 years after the film's release. As well as Call me your name, Hammer is known for roles in Sorry to Bother You (2018), Rebecca (2020), On the Basis of Sex (2018) and soon to be released, Death on The Nile (2021). He currently has another film due to be released and a Call me by your name sequel in development. Sounds as if he’s got a lot going for him and despite him not being the biggest star to be churned out of Hollywood today, the recognition is still there and with that, he’s still being paid.
Tumblr media
The Allegations
At the beginning of the year, an account emerged under the handle of @houseofeffie, that was created to expose some lurid and unpleasant communication between several women and Armie Hammer. Some of which he had relations with whilst married to his now ex wife Elizabeth Chambers. The nature of these dms are incredibly disturbing and worrying considering that Hammer not only has children but as an actor, spends a proportionate time around women.
These are just a few of the messages that were exposed that led the media to brandish Hammer as a “cannibal”:
Hammer:
“You are the god damned standard I hold women to in terms of kink and enjoyment of fucking the[n]...”
“I need to drink your blood, why the distance?” “...thinking of holding your heart in my head and controlling when it beats”
“I am 100% a cannibal...I want to eat you....Fuck...that’s scary to admit..”
“I’ve cut the heart out of a living animal before and eaten it while still warm”
“You were the most intense and extreme version [that I’ve ever had]. Raping you on the floor with a knife against you. Everything else seemed boring”
“You [were] crying and screaming, me standing over you.  I felt like a god. I’ve never felt such power or intensity.”
“You just live to obey and be my slave”
“Would you come and be my property till you die? If I wanted to cut off one of your toes and keep it with me in my pocket so I always had a piece of you in my possession?”
“I want to see your brain, your blood, your organs, every part of you… I would definitely bite it...100%”
Tumblr media
...O-kay. Lots to unpack here. First and fore mostly, I’d like to address the kink shaming element to all of this. I personally don’t see any harm in kinks, BDSM, pornography, as long as people are consenting and aren’t inflicting unsolicited pain upon people. Therefore, kink shaming and finding Hammer’s taste in sexual preferences isn’t what we are here to discuss. In fact when I first read the allegations, that wasn’t even my initially thought. CNN posted an article two days ago titled “Armie Hammer May Be Disturbed, But Is Shaming Him the Answer?” an opinion based article by Aaron Weaver that explores the allegations and believes Hammer shouldn’t be shamed for his kinks. But this begs the question whether Hammer was actually being shamed? I didn’t see much evidence for this seeing as people were mostly horrified by his taste in human flesh than anything else, a kink that is uncommon in the BDSM community and is only practiced by the most extreme.
Tumblr media
Kinks aside, the most worrying thing about the DMs above is the way in which he views women and their bodies. It’s clear to see that he might not have much respect for women seeing as he proudly states his willingness to cut them up and drink their blood. And funnily enough, the sexual objectification of women’s bodies for one's own sexual pleasure without considering their comfortability is classed as misogyny. A reddit user made an extremely good point on a thread about Hammer’s scandal stating:
“To me, the problem is not that he’s into rough sex, or that he has kinks some people find scary. It’s not about yucking his yum, so to speak. I’m more concerned that he may have ignored safe words and pushed his partners beyond their limits. I feel like the media is focusing so much on his kinks and sexuality as opposed to his ignoring of consent, which is a complete and utter inversion of priorities”
Past Relationships
Tumblr media
Another example of Hammer disrespecting the boundaries of women and sexual pleasure would be his past girlfriend Paige Lorenze. Lorenze is a 23 year model and former professional skier who has shone a light on Hammer’s worrying behaviour and his involvement in BDSM activity. The sources of Lorenze’s allegations are highly unreliable, which is one of the most frustrating things about this entire charade. The BBC BRIEFLY covered the fact that Hammer dropped out of his latest film amid the allegations, without fully going into detail about the allegations or the abuse subjected towards his former partners. It just goes to show we’re rubbish at taking abuse seriously enough to the point where people are punished for their wrongdoings. Had a more reliable news source covered this story, then it’d make it more viable to the public. Even though this scandal is in its early days, that doesn’t necessarily mean it's unimportant or should be swept under the rug along with the hundreds of other scandals that Hollywood refuses to expose.
Tumblr media
Only the Daily Mail, The Sun and Page Six seem to have gone in depth with the accusations, making the entire story rather murky for the reader. Anyhow, Paige Lorenze said to the Daily Mail that Hammer had carved an ‘A’ above her groin without her consent and licked it whilst it bled. He had also reportedly tied her up and hit her with paddles to fuel his BDSM obsession and sexual desires. Lorenze was quoted saying 'Any man who is fantasizing about crushing bones, eating them, having sex with female limp bodies is a danger to all women'. Hammer insisted to Lorenze that his behaviour was normal, and that there was an entire community of people that carried out the same things he did on her. This is partially correct seeing as the global sex play market is worth over $30 billion, with practices in such activities dating back to the mid 19th century. However, the one thing the BDSM community doesn’t condone is not giving consent, which is where the fine line is drawn in between Hammer’s sexual preferences and the BDSM community. His choice to carve that ‘A’ into Lorenze isn’t backed up by a wider community of people who enjoy a variety of sexual pleasure. Lorenze claims he also DMed nude photos of her being tied up to people without her consent, further perpetuating Hammer’s lack of respect towards people’s boundaries. This is a serious incident, that sees someone with more power (Hammer is 6’5 and Lorenze is 5’6 btw) assert their dominance and by doing so, degrades and harms someone else. We shouldn’t be kink shaming Hammer, but shaming him for thinking that this behaviour is acceptable.
Tumblr media
Hammer’s previous relationships can also draw some light into his lack of respect for women. He and his wife Elizabeth Chambers divorced in July 2020 after a decade of marriage. Though it's unknown what triggered the separation, these recent allegations may have something to do with it. Furthermore, two other women have come forward to express their distaste towards Hammer and his questionable fantasies. Entrepreneur and ex-girlfriend of Armie Hammer, Courtney Vucekovich, told Page Six that Hammer wanted to “break [her] rib and barbecue it and eat it”. She also expressed how easy it was for Hammer to charm his way through into getting women, especially young women into doing what he wants through “active manipulation and making you feel like he’s never felt this way about anybody.” Lorenze was also subjected to similar retort after reporting that Hammer too wanted to barbecue one of her ribs because she “didn’t need it”. Writer Jessica Ciencen Henriquez took to twitter last summer after a lunch date with Hammer and expressed that she had blocked him on Instagram. She later went on to tweet this:
“If you are still questioning whether or not those Armie Hammer DMs are real (and they are) maybe you should start questioning why we live in a culture willing to give abusers the benefit of the doubt instead of victims”
Exactly my point here. There’s not much to this scandal other than the fact that several people were hurt and undermined and someone else caused it. Someone who is societally above everyone because of their race, class, status and gender, with a well connected and dominant family support system.
Tumblr media
His background and past
Hammer comes from a very powerful and wealthy family. Hammer’s great grandfather, Armand Hammer, was the chief executive officer and president of the Occidental Petroleum company founded in 1920. Now if you’re wondering the exact scale of such a company that is still running today, they are the 4th largest oil and gas acquisition in the entire world worth over $100 billion. ONE HUNDRED, BILLION, DOLLARS. Not all actors in Hollywood can say that their great-grandfathers were worth that much, which gives me little hope in seeing Hammer be held accountable for what he’s done. He was also kicked out of UCLA after apparently not “being able to do it”.  Just another rich white male with enough power, malice and money to work his way around any struggle.
Tumblr media
Now that we’ve established Hammer’s allegations, it’s worth looking back to see whether the signs of such behaviour were already prevalent in the numerous interviews he partook in over the years. Complex highlighted an episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert from 2017, where the host brought up Hammer’s obsession with knots, to which he laughed off and claimed that “knots make sense” that they are a “language” and referenced how man used knots before the wheel. Valid points but ones that are debunked in light of his interest in BDSM. during a 2013 interview with Playboy (appropriate) Hammer expressed that his “sexual appetites changed'' when he married his wife and that hair pulling used to be something he enjoyed but could no longer do now that he was married “even though he wanted to”. This is quite the backwards comment when we’re talking about respecting boundaries and it's clear to see it was only a matter of time before his desires could no longer be repressed.
Tumblr media
Since this whole shit storm began to travel Hammer’s way, he has since dropped out of the film The Billion Dollar Spy, which would’ve seen him star alongside Jennifer Lopez. BBC News reported that this move was made as Hammer stated that “I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for four months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic” following the ‘vicious’ online abuse he’s been subjected to. Hammer was again put in the firing line by Grand Cayman law enforcement for lying about a woman provocatively shown in a video was Miss Cayman of the Miss Cayman beauty pageant that’s held on the island. He and the woman were warned for their misconduct and had confirmed the matter is now closed.
Final Thoughts
Tumblr media
There are enough red flags in Hammer’s behaviour to open up a flag store, and I would go as far as to say that this isn’t the end of it. For someone who’s grown up having the majority of things they want, it's easy to want more beyond morality and despite the discomfort of others. Hammer’s move to drop out of his latest film was an attempt to lessen the blow of hate being turned towards him as opposed to the benefit of those he’s hurt. So far, him and his lawyer have denied all allegations and further action hasn’t been taken against the Hollywood star. He’s apologised for the DMs and brandished his actions a “foolish attempt at humour”.
Wrapping his own behaviour up in humour is an attempt to detract from the severity of the behaviour itself, whilst excusing it, something he can get away with because of his status.
Major media outlets haven’t done much in even attempting to expose this man’s behaviour and have left it up to unreliable sources to piece together the true persona of Armie Hammer. Though innocent until proven guilty, common sense is widely available to the general public meaning we should be delving into the past a little and comparing it to these allegations. Along with Hammer’s character, family and unnerving Instagram posts of cutting up meat and eating raw steak, there doesn’t seem to be much in the actor’s favour.
All I would say is as a director, producer, writer or actor, would you feel comfortable in being associated with someone who believes they're a cannibal and marvels at the idea of drinking human blood? Or someone who goes as far to objectify women to the point where they become nothing but sexual fulfilment and pieces of meat?
That’s all I’ll say and those who do feel comfortable doing such a thing means that Hammer may still have a career at the end of the day. One point to Hollywood, no points to political correctness and respecting women.

Mini analysis about Azula gaining affection and her crooked moral compass.
"since she had alienated herself from her mother, she focused her energy on pleasing dad... which of course meant acting in more and more intense and possibly evil ways." -Aaron Ehasz [source]
Tumblr media
Of course, she is acting by her own hand and decision, but why she's here, and why she suggested to burn the land to the ground was because to please her Dad -- to steal some of the attention Ozai gave Zuko in the War Meeting, and later openly expressed how she wants to be by his side. Azula was competing with Zuko over their parents' attention, especially her father's, ever since she was a kid -- "perfectionist and competitive" is Azula's nature and the core of her character, while "being loved" is the truth of her character. This is what Ehasz meant by "I intended to leave a kernel of humanity". Both traits got heavily poisoned when the alienate of her mother happened, and a man like Ozai received a double attention/devotion from his daughter.
Ozai practically choose to ignore his first born son too, and give more attention to his second-born prodigy daughter. This resulted for Azula to have everything she wanted while simultaneously carries a lot of burden, yet extremely loyal to her father.
I'm not sure what Azula would suggest to do with the Comet without her father's influence, but I remember her reasoning for conquering the Earth Kingdom:
Tumblr media
-> ("If Ba Sing Se fell, the Earth Kingdom fall. Ba Sing Se is the key.") From "Earth Kingdom Chronicles: Tale of Azula" (ATLA official novelization)
-> ("The key is the Dai Li. Whoever controls the Dai Li controls Ba Sing Se.") From The Guru episode.
This is the reasoning she followed. It was a complete on point, strategical assessment. She only conquered the "key" to the Earth Kingdom defeat, for the Fire Lord and the Fire Nation as she puts it out for us in Crossroads of Destiny episode and Return Home comic, both written by Aaron Ehasz. Then kept the city under control and returned home after leaving Joo Dee in charge (a brainwashed Fire Nation loyal servant).
- "We've done it, Zuko. It's taken a hundred years, but the Fire Nation has conquered Ba Sing Se."
- "I found the perfect person to leave in charge. Someone who will execute the Fire Lord's will mercilessly and without question."
Azula definitely is someone to rule with iron fist, but she didn't go out CRUSH all the oppositions because she already won. You can see that in a smaller scale too: she didn't kill Long Feng because she already won. She refused to Agni Kai Zuko in The Crossroads of Destiny because she already had him. And more importantly, she didn't destroy the city or killed any civilians because she already won. She didn't kill the Kyoshi Warriors and none of the Invasion force because she already won, but rather separated the groups from their leaders and split them into different imprisonment locations. So Azula was not too over the top villain, she only has a mission and does what's necessary. Her politics fuction more on "if I had the key, the rest is irrelevant", rather than "complete and total obedience".
I always thought Bryke just wanted to finish the show with a bomb, because there was no logic in burning down an entire CONTINENT in less half an hour with only 16 airships fleet (I literally counted them). But Ozai isn't below committing atrocities if they benefit him or to boost his own ego (ie the whole Phoenix rises from the ashes), considering he also was following on his forefathers' footsteps too regardless of bad writing. Still by thinking of it more from plotline standpoint; if Ozai didn't order a "genocide" then Zuko wouldn't have a good reason to leave like any decent person would (and so Aang's arc would reach climax as well).
But Azula was going to aid her father anyways, because to be by his side matters more to her than any moral or logic, and Ozai is megalomaniac with no sense of morality.
As I said before, Azula's still acting by her own hand and decision, but it's so fucked up how far she would go. She generally does have conscience (as we all saw in the mirror scene, and briefly in The Beach; her apology and sorry face expression when Ty Lee started crying), but when she's with her father, it just gets buried.
P.S Ozai also canonically has narcissistic traits [X, X, X, X], and Azula def appeal to that part of him. Take into account that he's incompetent and needs a reliable ally.

Poetry Favorites
I cannot remember a time when I didn't love words. Poets use words efficiently and effectively and quite often evoke strong emotions, so poetry has also always appealed to me. I tend to seek out anthologies, novels in verse, and even books with poetry sort of sprinkled throughout. Here are a few of my favorites.
Anthologies:
No Matter the Wreckage by Sarah Kay Write Bloody Publishing
Summary: Following the success of her breakout poem, “B,” Sarah Kay releases her debut collection of poetry featuring work from the first decade of her career. No Matter the Wreckage presents readers with new and beloved work that showcases Kay’s knack for celebrating family, love, travel, history, and unlikely love affairs between inanimate objects (“Toothbrush to the Bicycle Tire”), among other curious topics. Dreaming in Indian by Lisa Charleyboy & Mary Beth Leatherdale (Not solely poetry, but containing some poetry) Annick Press
A powerful and visually stunning anthology from some of the most groundbreaking Native artists working in North America today.
Truly universal in its themes, “Dreaming In Indian” will shatter commonly held stereotypes and challenge readers to rethink their own place in the world. Divided into four sections, ‘Roots, ‘ ‘Battles, ‘ ‘Medicines, ‘ and ‘Dreamcatchers, ‘ this book offers readers a unique insight into a community often misunderstood and misrepresented by the mainstream media.
Emerging and established Native artists, including acclaimed author Joseph Boyden, renowned visual artist Bunky Echo Hawk, and stand-up comedian Ryan McMahon, contribute thoughtful and heartfelt pieces on their experiences growing up Indigenous, expressing them through such mediums as art, food, the written word, sport, dance, and fashion. Renowned chef Aaron Bear Robe, for example, explains how he introduces restaurant customers to his culture by reinventing traditional dishes. And in a dramatic photo spread, model Ashley Callingbull and photographer Thosh Collins reappropriate the trend of wearing ‘Native’ clothing.
Whether addressing the effects of residential schools, calling out bullies through personal manifestos, or simply citing hopes for the future, “Dreaming In Indian” refuses to shy away from difficult topics. Insightful, thought-provoking, and beautifully honest, this book will to appeal to young adult readers. An innovative and captivating design enhances each contribution and makes for a truly unique reading experience.

The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo HarperTeen [Audrey’s Review]
A young girl in Harlem discovers slam poetry as a way to understand her mother’s religion and her own relationship to the world. Debut novel of renowned slam poet Elizabeth Acevedo.
Xiomara Batista feels unheard and unable to hide in her Harlem neighborhood. Ever since her body grew into curves, she has learned to let her fists and her fierceness do the talking.
But Xiomara has plenty she wants to say, and she pours all her frustration and passion onto the pages of a leather notebook, reciting the words to herself like prayers—especially after she catches feelings for a boy in her bio class named Aman, who her family can never know about. With Mami’s determination to force her daughter to obey the laws of the church, Xiomara understands that her thoughts are best kept to herself.
So when she is invited to join her school’s slam poetry club, she doesn’t know how she could ever attend without her mami finding out, much less speak her words out loud. But still, she can’t stop thinking about performing her poems. Because in the face of a world that may not want to hear her, Xiomara refuses to be silent.
A Time to Dance by Padma Venkatraman Nancy Paulsen Books [My Review]
Summary: Padma Venkatraman’s inspiring story of a young girl’s struggle to regain her passion and find a new peace is told lyrically through verse that captures the beauty and mystery of India and the ancient Bharatanatyam dance form. This is a stunning novel about spiritual awakening, the power of art, and above all, the courage and resilience of the human spirit.
Veda, a classical dance prodigy in India, lives and breathes dance—so when an accident leaves her a below-knee amputee, her dreams are shattered. For a girl who’s grown used to receiving applause for her dance prowess and flexibility, adjusting to a prosthetic leg is painful and humbling. But Veda refuses to let her disability rob her of her dreams, and she starts all over again, taking beginner classes with the youngest dancers. Then Veda meets Govinda, a young man who approaches dance as a spiritual pursuit. As their relationship deepens, Veda reconnects with the world around her, and begins to discover who she is and what dance truly means to her.
Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds Atheneum/Caitlyn Dlouhy Books
Summary: A cannon. A strap. A piece. A biscuit. A burner. A heater. A chopper. A gat. A hammer A tool for RULE
Or, you can call it a gun. That’s what fifteen-year-old Will has shoved in the back waistband of his jeans. See, his brother Shawn was just murdered. And Will knows the rules. No crying. No snitching. Revenge. That’s where Will’s now heading, with that gun shoved in the back waistband of his jeans, the gun that was his brother’s gun. He gets on the elevator, seventh floor, stoked. He knows who he’s after. Or does he? As the elevator stops on the sixth floor, on comes Buck. Buck, Will finds out, is who gave Shawn the gun before Will took the gun. Buck tells Will to check that the gun is even loaded. And that’s when Will sees that one bullet is missing. And the only one who could have fired Shawn’s gun was Shawn. Huh. Will didn’t know that Shawn had ever actually USED his gun. Bigger huh. BUCK IS DEAD. But Buck’s in the elevator? Just as Will’s trying to think this through, the door to the next floor opens. A teenage girl gets on, waves away the smoke from Dead Buck’s cigarette. Will doesn’t know her, but she knew him. Knew. When they were eight. And stray bullets had cut through the playground, and Will had tried to cover her, but she was hit anyway, and so what she wants to know, on that fifth floor elevator stop, is, what if Will, Will with the gun shoved in the back waistband of his jeans, MISSES.
And so it goes, the whole long way down, as the elevator stops on each floor, and at each stop someone connected to his brother gets on to give Will a piece to a bigger story than the one he thinks he knows. A story that might never know an END…if WILL gets off that elevator.
Gabi, a Girl in Pieces by Isabel Quintero Cinco Puntos [My Review]
Summary: Gabi Hernandez chronicles her last year in high school in her diary: college applications, Cindy’s pregnancy, Sebastian’s coming out, the cute boys, her father’s meth habit, and the food she craves. And best of all, the poetry that helps forge her identity.
July 24
My mother named me Gabriella, after my grandmother who, coincidentally, didn’t want to meet me when I was born because my mother was unmarried, and therefore living in sin. My mom has told me the story many, many, MANY, times of how, when she confessed to my grandmother that she was pregnant with me, her mother beat her. BEAT HER! She was twenty-five. That story is the basis of my sexual education and has reiterated why it’s important to wait until you’re married to give it up. So now, every time I go out with a guy, my mom says, “Ojos abiertos, piernas cerradas.” Eyes open, legs closed. That’s as far as the birds and the bees talk has gone. And I don’t mind it. I don’t necessarily agree with that whole wait until you’re married crap, though. I mean, this is America and the 21st century; not Mexico one hundred years ago. But, of course, I can’t tell my mom that because she will think I’m bad. Or worse: trying to be White.
Jumped In by Patrick Flores-Scott Henry Holt and Co. [My Review]
Sam has the rules of slackerhood down: Don’t be late to class. Don’t ever look the teacher in the eye. Develop your blank stare. Since his mom left, he has become an expert in the art of slacking, especially since no one at his new school gets his intense passion for the music of the Pacific Northwest—Nirvana, Hole, Sleater-Kinney. Then his English teacher begins a slam poetry unit and Sam gets paired up with the daunting, scarred, clearly-a-gang-member Luis, who happens to sit next to him in every one of his classes. Slacking is no longer an option—Luis will destroy him. Told in Sam’s raw voice and interspersed with vivid poems, Jumped In by Patrick Flores-Scott is a stunning debut novel about differences, friendship, loss, and the power of words.
Shame the Stars by Guadalupe García McCall Tu Books [My Review] [Interview with Guadalupe García McCall]
Summary: Eighteen-year-old Joaquín del Toro’s future looks bright. With his older brother in the priesthood, he’s set to inherit his family’s Texas ranch. He’s in love with Dulceña—and she’s in love with him. But it’s 1915, and trouble has been brewing along the US-Mexico border. On one side, the Mexican Revolution is taking hold; on the other, Texas Rangers fight Tejano insurgents, and ordinary citizens are caught in the middle.
As tensions grow, Joaquín is torn away from Dulceña, whose father’s critical reporting on the Rangers in the local newspaper has driven a wedge between their families. Joaquín’s own father insists that the Rangers are their friends, and refuses to take sides in the conflict. But when their family ranch becomes a target, Joaquín must decide how he will stand up for what’s right.
Shame the Stars is a rich re-imagining of Romeo and Juliet set in Texas during the explosive years of Mexico’s revolution. Filled with period detail, captivating romance, and political intrigue, it brings Shakespeare’s classic to life in an entirely new way.
Piecing Me Together by Renée Watson Bloomsbury [My Review]
Summary: Jade believes she must get out of her neighborhood if she’s ever going to succeed. Her mother says she has to take every opportunity. She has. She accepted a scholarship to a mostly-white private school and even Saturday morning test prep opportunities. But some opportunities feel more demeaning than helpful. Like an invitation to join Women to Women, a mentorship program for “at-risk” girls. Except really, it’s for black girls. From “bad” neighborhoods.
But Jade doesn’t need support. And just because her mentor is black doesn’t mean she understands Jade. And maybe there are some things Jade could show these successful women about the real world and finding ways to make a real difference.
Friendships, race, privilege, identity—this compelling and thoughtful story explores the issues young women face.
